Very, very sad, and not just as an XM subscriber. I don't get how XM was the bigger company yet they've gotten completely emptied out. Sucks in so many ways.

no. this is rather depressing. especially the way they found out today would be their last day. i've been an xm subscriber for nearly 5 years and my radio has been almost exclusively tuned to channel 43.

I guess the same awful practices that have plagued am/fm radio for decades also exist in the satellite radio world. AM/FM stations tend to get little to no notice before they're yanked off the air; the main difference here is that it's a whole network that's being destroyed.

during the week, if you're headed towards bethesda, the last train from new york ave is 11:58 - same as the current last train from the 930's location.  if headed towards VA, you need to be on the 11:41.  depending on start times and the show, these times can work just fine.  as kosmo mentioned, shows have been finishing in time to catch the last train lately.  yelle was the first show in a long time that i had to skip b/c of metro.

rolling stone magazine will become the same size as regular magazines, with thicker issues and glossy pages.  not sure if that is a good thing.  i like it big.

Seriously?! They've always been a large size though even during the 1970s. Nooo....
 
 And now about XM, I find it sad and tragic. I know people who work there or more like used to work there. I took a tour of their facilities this past winter and found it amazing. With that in mind, their current location in dc would make a really awesome office or club or something.

I go to XM occasionally for indoor air quality projects, and will be sad to see my favorite place for projects leave.  That building is awesome and it's so exciting to go there.
