I go back to it every once in a while. Look forward to having the musical light bulb go off at some point.

Actually the Neil I've been listening to lately is the new live joint Way Down In The Rust Bucket recorded with Crazy Horse at a small club in Santa Cruz in late 1990 in preparation for their tour with Sonic Youth and Social Distortion. As good as anything he's ever released.

That’s like going to be my next purchase

Probably on cd..

I have heard great things about the four LP box but it’s $60 vs $15 for the cd...

So much great Neil Young stuff coming out your pocket takes a beating!

There’s the Archives 2 box for $115

And now the Young Shakespeare acoustic set

It’s a great time to be a Neil Young fan

Hey, for guys like $pace, my assumption is Spotify is too expensive.

For guys like hutch, he feels that Neil needs his 76 cents he gets off of his CD purchase.

I don’t feel Neil needs my 76 cents although am happy to give them to him...

Also I would guess that if Neil wasn’t getting any financial remuneration these types of things would end pretty quickly

I just don’t stream music

Is that ok?

Can I do what I like even though you don’t do it?

The endless appeals to conformity are really weak sauce

I knew this was a sore spot hutch, but no need to get excited.

I don't care what you do with your money... but for a forum so focused on being broke, saving money, etc. A Spotify subscription seems like an easy way to save $$$.

And the old "screw" the musician argument doesn't work anymore in my opinion... I stopped buying physical media other than the occasional record in the early 2000's.

Well it’s only a sore spot because you guys make it out like I am a sucker for doing what I like and consider the right thing!

It’s like you want to listen to music in poor quality, screw the musicians (of course you can’t admit it), no artwork, no details regarding the recordings, no context...and make it out like the sucker is the one that doesn’t!

For ten years I bought vinyl while everyone told me I was crazy and why the fuck would I do that? They just couldn’t get it

I like marching to the beat of my own drummer... you all want to do what everyone else is doing fine but don’t come down on me and think yourself smarter or better
