 Drive By Truckers
 Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson
 Shearwater
 the Walkmen
 Dengue Fever
 
 I'd say more, but what do I know, I only like formulaic alt-country. Plus, I don't want to give away my entire end of year list...

The Caesars -- Strawberry Weed
 
 This one will take everyone by surprise. Not a single bad song on the U.S. version. But not only that, there isn't a single song on it that isn't great.

that would assume i actually cared what the critics think - which I dont. Most fans of the band liked this album quite a bit - and I know Doom already likes them.

Thanks for the heads up on this one...I'll have to check it out.  When in top form I just love the songs this band writes.

The P4K review today just reminded me of the awesomeness (is that a word?) of Grails - Doomsdayer's Holiday.
 
 
 No idea what they were thinking gushing over that new Deerhunter, though.
