HEY BARCELONA!

I know you're happy today...did you celebrate the magnficent win over your arch-rivals? It's weird that Real Madrid start to go down with the change of Spains government..

The weekend didn't go as well in Man Utd land I'm afraid...a loss to Liverscum, by a stinking penalty too. Oh well, at least Chelski lost as well so we still have a chance at the second spot and automatic qualifications into the Champions league next season.

I am really happy for beating Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid (we hadn't won there in seven seasons); however, the best thing is that it seems that we are starting to play very decently and that we are starting to regain a little bit the respect we had in Europe and Latin America in the early nineties. Yesterday, our victory was in the main sports page at the bbc, espn latin america, la gazzetta in Italy or L'Equipe in France. We have some amazing players such as Ronaldinho, Davids, Xavi or Puyol and it seems that we have a team that might be able to fight for next season's Champions League. I doubt we can win the Spanish League this year (we were close to 20 points behind Real Madrid and Valencia three months ago and now we are only five points behind, but it is going to be almost impossible to win the title), but at least we are in the Champions League and we have a group of players that seem to understand each other perfectly and are having a good time playing together.

As for Manchester United, I saw the game against Liverpool and was surprised by the poor game United played. Scholes, Van Nilsteroy and Solskjaer did not play and I believe Giggs didn't play until the second half, but I have the impression that United is missing a leader in the midfield (maybe Beckham?). It's going to be tough next year, Arsenal still has a great team, Henry, Vieira, Pires... that team has some amazing players. Anyway, good luck next year. I believe Norwich is going to be in the premiership next year, I remember a few years ago they had a decent team with Chirs Sutton (and some other players I can't remember anymore).

United have missed Beckham all season....I said they would when the sold him, and I've been proved right.

He'll be making plays for Chelski next season, mark my words.

Maybe his low performance is related to not getting adapted to Spain (I believe his wife and kids still live in England). However, I am still surprised by how little he has done in Spain, I was listenning to a radion station in Spain yesterday and they were talking about the fact that he is not playing in the position he used to play while at Manchester United. I don't know if that is the case. What they were talking about were that some money, publicity issues might require him to stay in Madrid one more year and then he would go back to England. How is Michael Owen doing? Is he still so good?
