I liked them in 1988 and saw them a couple of times but can't imagine having to sit through one of their shows today. There are bands that I liked in 1988 that I would enjoy seeing today.. I guess it's just my own personal test of time.

Perry Farrell is just a big dork geek idiot.

No.  That was the Velvet Underground (you're doing a hell of a Mankie, BTW)

No I meant that Canadian band that covered it, recorded it in a church, that must have been them.

I am just going to pretend,

 being gay is passe also.

Although Gay Gary does sound like a super name for a comic book hero...

It was Cowboy Junkies that covered "Sweet Jane"

Personally, while parts of that list are pretty appalling overall, I am surprised and pleased to see PJ Harvey at number 8, she is a captivating performer and very deserving of recognition. Also The Roots certainly deserve to be on the list. I'm no hip-hop fan, but they put on a great show.

I don't know how Guns 'n Roses made it on there. They haven't toured or recorded in years. That farce Axel put together last year definitely doesn't count.

Phish played the entire Loaded album at a halloween show once.  They suck, but they have good taste.

Thank god I can say that I have no idea whether Phish suck or not.  Except for that one time I saw them on Saturday Night Live (an odd venue indeed).

I saw it as well..... I was thinking "why does this bunch of tossers sound so much like the greatful dead?"

I had no idea who they were till after the song finished.

So from what I can tell, a couple of people who still watch Saturday Night Live don't like Phish.  Makes me like them even more.  :D
