i'd normally be there, but i am working the lostprophets show at the 930. and believe me, i would rather be at the cat. as if the secret machines and helio sequence weren't enough, they added NEIL HAMBURGER to open. that guy's a national treasure.

Really, pollard, we don't need to know about that....

I talked with the manager last night about the show -- I was going to get there really late due to a dinner, and he recommended I buy a ticket as it's possible the show sells out at some point during the night.  Meaning, if you're there for Helio at least, you should be fine...

I went to the Fire Theft show to see these guys opening and they were excellent. I'm going back to see them again.

i only caught the tail end of the SM set when they opened for Blonde Redhead...will be there tonight tho.  i'm anxious to see helio sequence and neil hamburger too.  a friend of mine keeps raving about NH.  rare that a show has two decent openers. i'm pissed it's on a weeknight. oh well...just gotta make it through tomorrow.

i really enjoyed all 3 acts, was a bit disappointed that The Helio Sequence seemed to be faking some of their show, like the harmonica for one, but they put on a good show for most of their set, Secret Mahcines were outstanding

The crowd started filing out as the SM set went along. Probably due to the late start. This was my second time seeing them and they are fantastic. Their song structures really remind of "Wall"-era Floyd, and they are great at ambient soundscapes. They are much better live than on album, IMO.

yeah, how did the crowd react to neil hamburger? his shtick is more concept/performance art than mere comedy.
