A Perfect Circle 8/2 @ 930
« on: July 08, 2003, 05:00:00 pm »
Apologies if this was posted previously, but I don't remember seeing it.
 ----------------------------

A Perfect Circle Take New Step
 Album features former Manson bassist

Maynard James Keenan will keep Tool in the shed for at least another few months, as the oddball frontman's other band A Perfect Circle releases Thirteenth Step on September 16th.

Since the release of its debut album, Mer de Noms, three years ago, A Perfect Circle has had a few chairs vacated and filled. Out are guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen and bassist Paz Lenchantin (who joined Billy Corgan's new band, Zwan). And joining Keenan, guitarist Billy Howerdel and drummer Josh Freese is Jeordie White, who formerly recorded as "Twiggy Ramirez" for Marilyn Manson.

A Perfect Circle have lined up a twelve-date club tour to showcase the new material, starting July 26th in Denver.

 Track listing for Thirteenth Step:

 The Package
 Weak and Powerless
 The Noose
 Blue
 Vanishing
 A Stranger
 The Outsider
 Crimes
 The Nurse Who Loved Me
 Pet
 Lullaby
 Gravity

 A Perfect Circle tour dates:

 7/26: Denver, Ogden Theater
 7/28: Dallas, Grenada Theater
 7/30: Atlanta, Roxy Theater
 8/1: Norfolk, VA, The Norva
 8/2: Washington, DC, 9:30 Club
8/3: Boston, Berklee Academy of Music
 8/5: New York, Irving Plaza
8/6: Philadelphia, Theater of Living Arts
 8/8: Cleveland, Odeon
 8/9: Detroit, St. Andrew's Hall
 8/10: Chicago, Cabaret Metro
 8/11: Minneapolis, Pantages

There's a thread on the Velvet Rope saying that the Deftones are leaving the Summer Sanitarium tour on July 11 to open for APC. Take that with a grain of salt for now... *shrugs*

I'm definitely looking forward to this show.

Not sure if this was already mentioned on here, but...

Former SMASHING PUMPKINS Guitarist To Join A PERFECT
 CIRCLE? - July 1, 2003

Former SMASHING PUMPKINS guitarist James Iha has
reportedly been approached to replace Danny Lohner
(NINE INCH NAILS) in the current A PERFECT CIRCLE
 lineup.

According to Australia's Undercover News, Iha â?? who has remained relatively low-key since the breakup of SMASHING PUMPKINS â?? became "suddenly available" just as A PERFECT CIRCLE were about to audition guitarists.

Auditions that were to take place this week for A
PERFECT CIRCLE have now apparently been cancelled.

A PERFECT CIRCLE were formed by Billy Howerdel, the former guitar tech for SMASHING PUMPKINS. Lohner was brought into the group's fold earlier this year as a replacement for Troy Van Leeuwen, who has since become a full-time member of QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE.

A PERFECT CIRCLE's as-yet-untitled sophomore album is due on September 16 through Virgin Records.

Holy shit!  Iha's fucking amazing. Thanks.  I'm going to have to postpone my move now.

so the Perfect Circle bassist goes to Bill Corgan and his old guitarist goes to APC?  Sounds more like a hip hop trade to me.

  which makes me laugh.

Didn't they originally trade darcy to Hole for auf de maur and a drum machine to be named later?

I think this par for the course for the pumpkins.

I need a little clarity please:

The 9:30 web site says tickets go no sale Saturday 7/12 @ Noon through Tickets.com but an apc email says friday 7/11, but doesn't mention pre-sale.  Am I to assume that the apc email is incorrect?

In the message I received from the band's mailing list, there was a link included in the message where you could buy tix (beginning at 11 am today). Here 'tis: http://apctickets.musictoday.com/

Pygmy Love Circus, featuring Danny Carrey from Tool, is opening (re: www.thenorva.com). That Deftones rumor everyone is talking about is a European September tour thing.

Very cool. I'm just excited to see APC in a smaller venue than Bender Arena this time around.
