Just because we'd been wondering when to do AVALANCHE again, and it turned out that in late May the Community CD (New Order tribute/covers album) would be released then - and then of course that all coincided with Ian Curtis' death in May.

Yep! He was the lead singer and main songwriter...New Order came about because Joy Division broke up after his suicide in 1980. The remaining band members came back as New Order. If I remember correctly, he topped himself the day before Joy Division were due to leave for their first US tour.

 You dumb-ass motherfucker, nearly 3/4s of the bands people talk about on this board claim to be influenced by Joy Division! And you don't know who they even are? What are you going to the HFStival or something? Wait, even they have The Cure, perhaps THE band with biggest debt to Joy Division. WTF!!!
