new GBV dates...
« on: February 25, 2004, 11:15:00 am »
These popped up:

 Thursday April 22
 Trenton, NJ - Conduit (21+)
 w/ Seachange
 Tickets on sale at Ticketweb.com

 Friday April 23
Northampton, MA - Pearl Street (All Ages)
 w/ Seachange

 Saturday April 24
New York, NY - Bowery Ballroom (21+)
 w/ Seachange

Below was the latest we'd heard on rescheduled tour dates(Feb 9th).  I forget what the buzz/rumors were from those in the know on the board, but I recall that GBV was not planning on hitting DC on this particular round of dates.

 Jeremy C. Baron reports:
Our favorite "I write songs faster than Dean loses percentage points" musician is back--ahem-- in the fray. Guided By Voices' captain of fade, Robert Pollard, recently sustained another injury to his back, causing him to cancel a number of January tour dates. Fortunately, Pollard has been recovering, and is expected to continue rocking out crowds come March. Rescheduled dates:

 03-05 Dallas, TX - Trees
03-06 Austin, TX - La Zona Rosa
03-08 Columbia, MO - Blue Note
03-09 St. Louis, MO - Mississippi Nights
 03-11 Columbus, OH - Little Brother's
 03-12 Louisville, KY - Headliners
 03-13 Bloomington, IN - Bluebird

i've lived here for 18 months, and i swear they've only played once in dc. and that was as an opener. ah well, that would still be good for inferior bands.

i'm posting this sort for the hell of it... (i need to talk to the powers that be about the search feature)

Emusic has for download the Maxwell's Urge Overkill show.  Yes EMusic isn't what it use to be, it sucks having to pay more for the downloads, but I don't see this at the iTunes Store.  Regardless of what the majority of people seem to critize EMusic for, if you subscribe be prepared to be overwhelmed by the vast amount of great music which can be downloaded.

EMusic has been hinting at live shows from The Dismemberment Plan, The Walkman, Holly Golightly to mention a few.  Currently they have shows by Imperial Teen, The Mendoza Line, John Vanderslice, Mojo Nixon, etc.

Urge Overkill show  You can hear 30 second of the set as a preview...

WOOWOO -- I was at the Urge show!!  oops, I was at the Bowery show.  Still, very cool!

So I have to become a member of emusic?  (I have a dial-up at home, which is why I've never downloaded music...)
