Kosmette and I are back from Portugal as Mr and Ms Vinyl. As mentioned here on the board and to many of the regulars directly we recently got married in Kosmette's favorite city Edinburgh. The hitching took place in the India Building Registry office on Victoria Street. Although the day started with "typical" Scottish weather, a bit rainy, damp and cold... Almost right on cue the sun came out and the rain went away, leaving it great afternoon for a stroll up the Royal Mile after the ceremony with photographer in tow. After our stroll the reception took place at
Marlin's Wynd a historic structure built in the 1540's. Seeing as the wedding was taking place in, Edinburgh the logical choice was to hire a kilt, so my brother and I donned the Flower or Scotland tartan. The first dance was to "Come What May" from Moulin Rouge and the "Best Wedding Cake Ever" came from Plaisir du Chocolat. As always Kosmette outdid herself in planning the party, everyone attending had a great time, with loads of mingling, drinking and dancing to tunes put together by moi in advance.
After the wedding we and several of Kosmette's friends headed to the English Borders for a long weekend of hanging out, eating, drinking and watching the lambs frolic in the pasture. From there it was off to Portugal for a little downtime on our own. We got to enjoy the historic sights in Tomar, Evora, Comibra and Lisbon, and had fab weather all along the way. Not to hot or cold and only a little damp. Portugal was great, but there are only just so many castles, churches and museums one can see. The trip's motto quickly became "Look it's another castle on a hill". So we are glad to be back home, if only because it's nice to be in a soft bed and have something other than fried meat with either boiled or fried potatoes as a meal.
Once the jetlag wears off, I'll get around to providing pictures of the day and other links...
