Hmmmmm....Minus the Bear @ Black Cat, or Ted Leo and Le Tigre out in front of the Washington Monument?

I just might have to pick the latter.

Dear Marines,

As you probably already know, exercising your right to free speech is guaranteed by the US Constitution.  Ellis D. Fleischbach suggested I tell you this, although I am not sure why.

I'll bet the Washington Monument show will be long over by the time MTB hits the stage.

I am a Marine and I'll be happy when all my brothers and sisters are out of that bloody sandbox. Thanks to TC for putting this on!

I grew up in a military family, and lived thru having a father and a brother in Vietnam.  This is deja vu, except without the trumpted up "commie" threat...over 2,000 dead and almost 14,000 wounded - I don't believe you are unpatriotic to want us OUT OF IRAQ IMMEDIATELY...Let the oil companies employees stay; they can volunteer and make beaucoup "hardship" bucks; that's what it's all about anyway.

Of course, the Patriot Act renewal will make it an act of treason to question anything the Bush family does...so showing up at this protest may be a career limiting move.  Remember all those video cameras around DC in the name of "terrorist threat"? Do you think your mug might be on one of them soon?   Who cares. I'll be there...

I thought our stated purpose in going in to countries like Iraq was to allow these places to enjoy freedom as we do.  Freedom.  Freedom to disagree with your government, freedom to protest in a non-violent but public manner, freedom to think any damn thing you want.

Another war loss to add to our recent dismal record.  Yeah, I'm sure that's the 'feelgood victory' the troops have been battling for.

Make sure you video the concert so you can post it on the Al Qaeda website.  It'll be a real morale booster for Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.  I hear he's been down in the dumps recently.  This news is sure to cheer him up.  Way to go Ted Leo.
