Opens at AFI Silver tonight

AFI Silver is also doing a British horror film series, including Lair of the White Worm.

Coporation is on my list, I hope most of you got out to see "The Control Room" aside from all this F-911 madness.

Saw Napoleon Dynamite at a free screener, friggin hillarious.

both are on my list, along with F-911, but alas I have so little time to catch a movie.  It's probably raining Sunday, and I have to take advantage -- Spidey 2!!

Finally got to see Napoleon Dynamite tonight. It was great!! So many quotable lines throughout and very funny. Tomorrow is the last night of its run at the AFI, so I'm going to see it again.

I found it hilarious at first, then it got a little old but I'd recommend it for anyone looking for a quirky nerd movie!  (tried to hit that free screening but it filled up before we could say napoleon)

I guess that's why I liked it so much...I am a quirky nerd. The epilogue was recently added, so those who do see it should stay until the very end because the extra footage doesn't begin until after the credits.

Seeing it a second time allowed me to not focus so much on the obvious (Napoleon's mannerisms, for example) and to pay attention to the details...the clothing, the music, the scenery. Plus, it allowed me to figure out what that old dude was saying after Napoleon and the other boys started chowing down on the egg dishes. *ugh*

Vastly overrated.  Tried to be Welcome To The Dollhouse but failed miserably.

I agree that it doesn't top Welcome to the Dollhouse, one of my all-time favorites.

It just felt forced...like it was trying to hard to show us how quirky it was without much thought of anything else (character development, story, etc.)  All would have been forgiven if it was funny.  But it wasn't.  It just felt like one of those one note Saturday Night Live sketches that falls flat and goes nowhere.

I don't see that attempt in the film at all. If the director wanted to go the Solondz route, something bit more bizarre than the meek older brother hooking up with a 6' black chick would have happened. And Napoleon probably wouldn't have landed Deb.

To me, it seemed as if the viewer was getting a glimpse at what happens in this Idaho town...nothing, absolutely nothing. This is how they live their lives, wearing outdated pastels, doing "Happy Hands" and probably not knowing the wiser.
