so ok

teams are set, but since i have never played this before, give me some knowledge.

so there's a limit on games each position can use? so if i play a catch every day, sooner or later, i'll use up all his spots? or is that each player can only play 162 games (which would be the max anyway)

and i dont really understand rotisserie or head to head or whatever.  are we playing against another team each week? or what?

help me out so i dont just get my ass kicked too bad (though, unless the red sox and tigers have monster seasons, i will anyway!)

for the game limit, consider this. . .it's a 162 game season, but there are more than 162 days in the season.  it's a matter of parsing out your starters.  unless you have 3 catchers, that is one position that you are not likely to have problems with.  frankly, don't really worry about game limit for the first few months of the season, just focus on starting your best players and making sure they are playing that day- many times have i rued the fact that i put someone in the starting line-up, only to find out they didn't start, and got 0 points out of the position for that day.

as for structure- everyday you make your line-up, and your standing is based on the stats put up by those players you started on that day.  based on those numbers, you are ranked against the other teams stat-by-stat; so, since there are 9 teams in this league, if you are leading the league in runs, you'll get 9 points, but if you are last in runs, you'll get 1 point, and so forth for each stat category.  person with most points at the end of the season wins.

 hope that helps.

This is a lineup sure to put the fear of god in any opponent:

The Pirates have announced that Tony Armas and Tom Gorzelanny will fill out their starting rotation, which will also feature Zach Duke, Ian Snell and Paul Maholm. Duke will take the mound next Monday when the Pirates open the 2007 season in Cincinnati.

They've come a long way from what could have been:

 Jason Schmidt
 Jeff Suppan
 Chris Young
 Zach Duke
 Oliver Perez

Maybe this will finally be the end of the Dave Littlefield era.

it always sneaks up on me, then by the end of april i'm already used to the routine of watching MASN three times a week, going to the ballpark on a last-minute whim .... can't fucking wait ...

i was away rounding up the next bunch for a fiddler crab convention, so i didn't have time to comment on this.  but what a fantasy team these guys would make: a catcher, a man with a big bat, and a guy in bondage. except of cource for that f'd-up left arm of gimp boy.  that thing looks like a t-rex chicken wing.
