Killers/Ambulance, Ltd. roll call
« on: October 03, 2004, 10:04:00 am »
Has there been a roll call yet?  I'll be there for Ambulance, Ltd.  I'll hang around for the Killers if they're interesting enough.

i'm looking forward to it.  mostly because of ambulance, but the killers should be great too--their album is really good.

We'll be there in time for Ambulance. I've heard good things about the Killers, too so I'll stick around for them.

Any reviews on the Ambulance/Killers show.  Really sorry I didn't make it, but I think Ambulance might be playing the same set  list for all shows, and I've seen them three times...any new stuff?  Were the Killers really bored with  the whole gig?

I've seen them a few times in Denmark. They're a cross between early Blondie and mid-80's Duran Duran. Good stage presence, though... even with the keytar.  ;)

What's up with the keytar making a comeback? There was a band at Chief Ike's earlier this year with a guy playing keytar.

i thought the show was great! i was the girl up in front of the keyboards bouncing around like a maniac. especially during "indie rock & roll" i love that song. here is the setlist:

 mr brightside
 smile like you mean it
 on top
 under the gun
 change your mind
 somebody told me
 andy you're a star
 indie rock & roll
 midnight show

 --------------
jenny was a friend of mine
all these things that i've done

yeah, it was sadly a really short show, i was hoping they'd come up with some new songs to throw in there but it seems not. it was great anyway, except for the idiots who pushed their way up to the front during the encore and elbowed me the entire time, interrupting my enjoyment of two of my favorite songs.

my friend was so impressed by ambulance ltd, though, that she bought their cd. they were excellent, i especially enjoyed that last song.

Yes, it was a fun show. I wasn't sure I would stay through all of the Killers set but ended up staying the entire set (and encore). I thoroughly enjoying their stage presence. I loved watching Brandon Flowers' sardonic smile. And what a great voice. (He's somehow a compelling figure.) And musically, they were much, much better than when I saw them open for Stellastarr*. The set was just long enough before they would have started to repeat themselves.

Surferosa -errrrghhh. I am not quite sure how to describe them. I was alternately repulsed, uncomfortable, and amused. It was weird and odd. And in my mind, not very good. But the strangeness got the crowd going (though some people in the front looked disconcerted).

Ambulance, ah, Ambulance. I love them. They seemed particularly on last night. I've never heard Marcus' voice sound better. A short set -but then isn't it always? It's time for them to headline. I think their constant touring has now built up a solid fanbase, and they could get a good crowd at the 9:30 Club.
