first, i own many albums produced by rubin, varying in so many different angles of musical style, that fucking rule, so i don't need to follow what other people think of his work.
 
 second, i believe you misunderstood my statement about metallica.  i also don't beleive they have put out anything worth listening to since "justice..." and was merely asking if they had the talent to do so anymore.

I too am a fan of Rubins.  Cult's Electric, South of Heaven by Slayer, Blood Sugar Sex Magic by the Peppers are untouchable records.  Look at this list - awe inspiring to me.

I agree Electric is one of the greatest rock records of all time for me.  I am not even claiming the Cult are the greatest band, but for one album the were as perfect as they could be.  Rubin's influence turned this into one hell of a fun ride.  Just listen to the outtakes.  The sound pales.

Depends on the band and the record.  A nice example would be the Cult.  Listen to the difference between Electric and Sonic Temple.  Bob Rock blows as a producer.  If you look at the work he did with Metallica it is just plain awful.  I am so hopeful that Rubin will have a chance to help Metallica redeem itself after 17 years of crap records.
