Was out at Merriweather to DJ the Counting Crows show at the new 932 bar they have setup on the grounds. While I didn't get a chance to checkout the improvements with regards to the video screens or sound in the pavallion or on the lawn. I did see the cool new sculptures and of course the 932 bar.
Walk into the 932 setup and you feel instantly transported to backbar. While bigger than the backbar, it's completely black inside, with picture frames hanging from the ceiling, a full service bar, small tables and chairs to sit and enjoy a drink at, with cool DJs providing atomsphere. They were showing the Suicide Kings DVD and when the Counting Crows were on they showed the close circuit feed from the show in the bar.
I'd say if one is out at Merriweather and want to escape the warmup acts or even get away from the show for a bit, 932 is the place to be. Plus it's 21+ and thatguy was checking ids that night...
For my part, the musical soundtrack consisted of Beth Orton, Fruit Bats, Grant Lee Buffalo, Los Lobos, Brindley Brothers, Alejandro Escvado, The Argument, Tommy Keene, Marti Jones, Big Star, Sloan, Air, Beautiful South, Jimmy Cliff, Georgie Fame, Crowded House, Donovan, Jason Falkner, Zero 7, Dusty Springfield, Nick Drake, etc...
