Detroit Cobras
« on: October 12, 2005, 11:03:00 pm »
So who's going to Iota on Monday?  Reigning Sound is opening....I know they played a while back opening for someone...don't remember who.  Anyone see them?  How were they?

I have one. Since they are a cover band, shouldn't they be playing Whitlow's?

I'm guessin either the Rev. H. Heat or Cake/Cheap Trick shows for prior Detroit Cobras shows...

Me I'm in for the show and can't wait either.  It will be a change from moping around the house and playing Pikmin.

How bands playing Whitlows are signed to Bloodshot Records?  The fact that they are a cover band makes no difference.  The Beatles stared as a covers band perhaps you've heard of them.

Would definitely be in for the Cobras were it not for Tracy Chapman at 9:30.

I know the IOTA site says 8:30 for this show, but does anyone have any real idea when things get going there on a weeknight?

Openers at 9:15, headliners on by 10:30, 11:00 at the latest most of the time.  Weeknights shows usually wrap up by 12:00.

If you would like to discuss the operational details let's get together and chat about it, say, Saturday at self same Iota.

 Heh heh.

Was kinda in the mood for a hipster-free show tonight, hence the decision.

do stringy-haired 46-year-old dudes in gories shirts qualify as hipsters now? because that's who usually makes up a lot of the crowd at garage rock shows at iota.
