Radio 1/40 years cover album.

BBC Radio 1 covers album.

This seems pretty cool if you like new British bands...doing old songs.  I like the Raconteurs covering "Teenage Kicks" then being covered by Corinne Bailey Rae.

What is it with British bands and covers?  They're doing a cover album of "Sgt. Pepper" aren't they?  And back in the 90's they did a cover album of "The Queen is Dead?"  What is it with British people and nostalgia?

What is with you knocking any music made before the year 2000? Maybe one day when you get older you will sound like some of us old farts and understand that really good music stands the test of time. I may be a musical snob, but at least I try my best to keep up with what is being released today and I'm still digging the new as well as the old.

If you haven't done so already, I recommend that you listen to these "old" records and try to stack them up against AFI and My Chemical Romance or whatever it is you listen to:

 Minor Threat -- Complete Discography
X -- Under the Big Black Sun
Echo & the Bunnymen -- Crocodiles
 Sugar -- Copper Blue
 Ramones -- Road to Ruin
Dinosaur Jr. -- Where You Been
 The Misfits -- Static Age
 My Bloody Valentine -- Loveless
Descendents -- Milo Goes to College
 The Germs -- Complete Anthology
The Clash -- The Clash (UK Version)

PS -- This compilation looks kind of crappy IMO

Brian, my dear boy, maybe the British have much more respect for their musical elders.

I would love to hand pick some older music to play for little Brian and tell him that they are new releases just to hear his reactions. Bet he'd be squealing in joy claiming how much better newer music is to that of those in the Antiquities stacks.

Have to admit, though I often don't agree with a lot of what Brian writes, I do very much enjoy reading his posts. They always make me laugh and sometimes he gets a few good zingers in there.
