O.A.R.

I've never seen such a mediocre band get so much hype.

Did you ever hear Rollins go off on U2?  I think it's on "A Boxed Life."  He talks about The Edge playing that one "Eno-esque chord."  Funny.  But not as funny as his Edie Brickell rant.

Man, that just made me LOL.  And I'm with GGW on BSS too.  Why they're so revered I'll never know.

Fallout Boy - are they really that good?  I think their music is eh at best
Gnarles Barkley - I like Ceeloo and Goodie Mob, and i like dangermouse, but put them together, and you get crap. their performance at Virgin Fest 06 was one of the worst performances i have ever sat through.
KMFDM - Seems too happy at times, and too angry at others.  Very bipolar.  I can see why people might like them, but they are not my cup of tea.

Again for the sake of objectivity.  If there's a top 50 guitarist list, then I'm fairly sure he's on it.  Go see a clip of "Bullet The Blue Sky" live, then get back to me.  I'm assuming you've never seen it in person.

Exhibit A of your ignorance: U2 charges a fan-friendly $49.50 for GA floor seats, when a band of their stature could EASILY charge 4x that rate. This argument is about as pointless as getting head without a swallow, so we'll agree to disagree.  Have a great day.    :D

bjork -- i've just never understood the fascination.  i don't think the music is really that innovative/interesting.  her singing annoys me and it seems like she's trying to hard to do her batshit crazy act (Though i have to admit the video of her beating up that reporter was hilarious).

arcade fire -- i found them nothing but boring.  they (at least a couple of the members) were in the row in front of me @ radiohead in montreal (i think it was the second night? but maybe it was the first)

daft punk -- seriously, until the recent talk i had no idea that people still liked/cared about them or that they were even a big deal in the first place ... ?  it's not that i think that they are by any means bad or anything, but i just fail to see what makes them anything less than generic electronic dance music?

sigur ros -- i heard so many stories (not necessarily from here -- though i know people on this forum like them) about how great they were (especially live).  i heard album stuff and i thought it was boring.  with talk of the shows being "life changing" (yes, words that excessive were used to describe their live shows), i decided to give them a shot.  i actually bought tickets for both 930 shows in 03.  i had to miss the first one because of being sick but decided that even though i was sick i shouldn't skip both dates.  the whole show was probably the most excruciatingly boring concert experience of my entire life.  there were moments that it seemed like some of the songs might be building up to something.... only to go nowhere.  when will the novelty of the hopelandic gimmick wear off? probably not soon enough as they apparently haven't disbanded and have released more material since 03.  they definitely weren't the WORST thing i've seen, but i'm pretty sure they were indeed the most boring.  that whole evening is 9 hours of my life (including travel time) that i'll never get back.  i don't even care about the money at this point.

oh and on top of the "don't get" category, these are also bands that i don't WANT to "get".  i don't see a reason to waste time/effort at this point.

The Shins and New Pornographers.

 Just never clicked with me.

 Phish.

I'm skeptical of anyone who ever got really into them.
