bjork -- i've just never understood the fascination. i don't think the music is really that innovative/interesting. her singing annoys me and it seems like she's trying to hard to do her batshit crazy act (Though i have to admit the video of her beating up that reporter was hilarious).
arcade fire -- i found them nothing but boring. they (at least a couple of the members) were in the row in front of me @ radiohead in montreal (i think it was the second night? but maybe it was the first)
daft punk -- seriously, until the recent talk i had no idea that people still liked/cared about them or that they were even a big deal in the first place ... ? it's not that i think that they are by any means bad or anything, but i just fail to see what makes them anything less than generic electronic dance music?
sigur ros -- i heard so many stories (not necessarily from here -- though i know people on this forum like them) about how great they were (especially live). i heard album stuff and i thought it was boring. with talk of the shows being "life changing" (yes, words that excessive were used to describe their live shows), i decided to give them a shot. i actually bought tickets for both 930 shows in 03. i had to miss the first one because of being sick but decided that even though i was sick i shouldn't skip both dates. the whole show was probably the most excruciatingly boring concert experience of my entire life. there were moments that it seemed like some of the songs might be building up to something.... only to go nowhere. when will the novelty of the hopelandic gimmick wear off? probably not soon enough as they apparently haven't disbanded and have released more material since 03. they definitely weren't the WORST thing i've seen, but i'm pretty sure they were indeed the most boring. that whole evening is 9 hours of my life (including travel time) that i'll never get back. i don't even care about the money at this point.
oh and on top of the "don't get" category, these are also bands that i don't WANT to "get". i don't see a reason to waste time/effort at this point.
