Sure, she looked like a completey disinterested, autopilot stripper (guys, you know what I'm talking about) but I think the knives are out a little too much on this one. What did you expect? Has there EVER been a truly "great" performance at the VMAs? Ever? The worst performance ever at the 9:30 club was probably better than the "best ever" VMA performance. People were just waiting to trash Britney no matter what she did. I'm indifferent to her but in September of 2007 if the most important thing in the world is a teen idol, ten years on, lip-synching on a show no one watches filled with stupid hip-hop artists and lame classic/alt rock bands (Foo Fighters, I'm looking at you) on a CHANNEL no one watches anymore.... My goodness, did you know there was a good football game on at the same time? The ONLY cool/frustrating thing about last year's show was that The Raconteurs were the "house band" and you could hear about ten seconds of the foreign substance called "music" before you went to commercial. And this year, they gave you...Mick Ronson. Pat yourselves on the back "M"TV!
The only thing that really bothered me was that everyone was saying she was "fat" and "out-of-shape." You're either too skinny or too fat in Celebrityville. If you look at her in that outfit and say she's "fat" then you're stupid, pathetic and grossly obese.
