My wife was going through a stack of cover letters for an entry level bachelors degree requiring position a couple of years ago, many similiar to this in quality.

Is she allowed to list that on her resume?  And I think that should be "ho's" not "hoes," somebody needs to work on their grammar. [/b]
i think that would be grammatically correct if they are talking about this-

Would any journalists out there care to opine?
Oh, so you're playing the "cute, white blonde" card are you?

Recent history has shown that cute, white blonde women are not necessarily favored over other women with different hair and/or skin color.

 Let's see...

1.)  The Cardigans made some great records.  Everyone only remembers them for "Love Fool."

2.)  Alanis Morrisette sold more records than Jewel.

3.)  Very few of the big, bankable Hollywood celebrity actresses are blonde.  Julia Roberts, Halle Berry, Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, etc.  Reese Witherspoon is blonde.  Ummm...Legally blonde.

4.) There have been more brunettes than blondes on the cover of US Maxim.

5.) Most famous successful female athletes aren't blonde:  Williams sisters, Mia Hamm, most WNBA players.  Exception, Lauren Jackson.

So, I think you can't see the forest for the highlights.

You're comparing apples and oranges.  The UNC schools are R-I universities as determined by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.  App State is a Masters granting institution.  In historical context, these were traditionally Normal Schools that were created to prepare teachers at the turn of the century.  Today, they are more like work force development and training schools, not research schools, so attendance would depend on what you were going to school for.

In the case of Miss Teen South Carolina, a graphic design major would not go to an R-I school.  I doubt UNC-Chapel Hill even offers the major.

well heres what my friend wrote:  I especially like how she was a "hoes resource".  Does that mean she was a "casher" for prostitutes?

So "our" fascination stems from them not receiving enough exposure or accolades in mainstream life?  Could it be they're not particularly athletic, good actresses, songwriters, or for lack of a better word, TALENTED enough to be "favored."

I'm also not sure what you meant by "favored," I'm certainly not making that argument, nor insinuating that have a priviledged position in our society, but rather they are the only thing that seems to be "newsworthy," and the amount of time spent fretting over them by the media (and I would assume by americans, who if they weren't tuning in would squash this trend) is disproportionate to their otherwise non-productivity or relevance to society.

Was this person a non-native speaker of English?

This sounds like the kind of sentence construction, omission of articles, etc. that I heard a lot when I was teaching English in Japan.

Funny you should reference "non-productivity" while writing your nearly 700th post on this chatboard. But you have a long way to go to catch me, Beyonce!

i'm ashamed to admit that my first reaction upon watching the clip that started this thread was to bad "Best Week Ever" was on a break at the moment as they would have a field day with that clip... such is the effect of the insta-celebrity culture we live in.

anyone watch the TMZ TV show yet? will it require the taking of a shower after watching it?
