Back in the college days, my roommates and I were big WOV fans.  Also if we needed to clear out a party in our apartment we would put on a little Call of the West.
 
 I saw Stan Ridgeway a few years back at Ram's Head.  Highly recommend seeing him if he ever comes back.

New Wave music was so radically different that the diehard classic rock crowd said it sucked.  Their brains were too small to get it.
 
 I wonder, is there any modern hipster reactionary phenomenon comparable to the anti -New Wave backlash of the late 70s/early eighties?

I have always been a "Wall" fan and I'm one of the lucky ones who got a chance to catch them live front & center back in '83 or '84, I think it was.....always been a big fan of Marc Moreland's sound....I'm going download some of the stuff you posted.......thanks!
