Fundraiser for the Save Merriweather Political Action Committee (PAC)
OK, we know...as important as they are, hearings aren't exactly a party, and all this talk of losing Merriweather can be a bit depressing. So we're going to throw a little bash to raise spirits - and some much-needed funds! Please come out to eat a bit, drink a bit, and meet other Save Merriweather supporters and music fans!

Where: Champps at Columbia Mall (10300 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia, Maryland 21044)
When: Wednesday, October 13, 5:30 - 7:30
Why: $25 will get you heavy hors d'oeuvres, drinks*, great company and the satisfaction of knowing you're helping to save Merriweather
* Soft drinks and beer are included; liquor and wine will be available at happy hour prices
We're looking for a great turnout, to continue to show the community's strong support for Merriweather and concern for the future of downtown Columbia. Please bring your family and friends for a fun, informative, worthwhile evening!
What's the Save Merriweather PAC?
Save Merriweather is actually two organizations - Save Merriweather, Inc., the non-profit grassroots organization, and Save Merriweather PAC, the political action committee that raises funds to advance Merriweather's cause in the political arena. Having the PAC in addition to the non-profit allows us to broaden the scope of our influence, since legally a non-profit is limited in its ability to participate in political campaigning.
Donations to the Save Merriweather PAC will be used to support candidates for local and state elected office who have demonstrated a commitment to preserving Merriweather as an outdoor venue for the performing arts. Merriweather's fate will be determined, in large part, by the actions of elected officials. While your donation will not be tax-deductible, donating to the Save Merriweather PAC is a great way to make your voice heard.
