well that was surreal for me. lots o' flashbacks.

nkotb, thanks for the extra ticket. didn't have a chance to thank you again at the end of the show as i headed over to say hi to someone and i believe you and ggw were headed downstairs.

did they not give out the actual ticketmaster tickets for will call folks?

was it just me or was that place not entirely full? for a sold out show, it was definitely lacking in sardine qualities.

who else will be back at the black cat in about 21 hours?

Wow.  That was my first D-Plan concert.  Wow.

The first act (can't remember their name) was OK...like early Jimmy Eat World or Sam I Am.

Oranges Band was good, but something was off.  Maybe their guitarist was sick?  Dude kept going back for an extra coat/jacket.  In any case, I picked up 2 of their albums.

And D-Plan.  Wow.  The band just clicked.  Early in the set, during "Gyroscope," you could just tell.  It was an amazing performance.  The banter was great.  The cake story was funny.  The crowd was into it.  If I could get tickets for tomorrow night, I'd go again.

maybe it was my 10th time seeing them

granted on a musical level they were tight, sounded great other than some tech problems

but i was bored to tears, and hey I'm stoked they got back together and helping cal, totally awesome..

but the fans killed this for me

maybe i was younger and just was more into it but I guess 20-24 can be a big difference in age but...when did dismemberment plan become a frat party band. maybe they always were..?

nothing wrong with people dancing and having fun, and hey ive seen good hecklers or people that yell out comments that are funny but not every song needs 20 people screaming HELL YEAH ...or hey ERIC LOOKS LIKE CARL WINSLOW

this wasnt the 2nd coming of black flag, jesus lizard didnt get back together...no it was just dismemberment plan

sure i understand this band could mean the world to some people..

but yeah...boring show, couldnt hear half of the comments (even during some of the serious notes with cal) ...and the ice of boston with half of black cat up there, then fucking up some equipment was lame

yes yes i know this all sounds negative and maybe even a bit stuck up..but i was disapoinnted..

more than anything though I'm glad they did this and it was for a great cause, even if you didnt get to go, please donate, the bills will be A Lot, and like J. Robbins said "it is more common than you think"

Not a problem; glad you enjoyed the show!  And sorry for being a bit anti-social.  I started walking away from the stage to get a better better spot to chat post-show with everyone, and when I turned around, I didnt' see you anywhere.  oh well...maybe next time.

As for the Ticketmaster stub, I do have that.  If I remember, I'll try to hold onto it for you, if you'd like.  Maybe at the next show, I'll pass it along.

Anyone have an estimation for when last night's show ended? I have a drive back to Richmond afterwards...

Also, anyone want to take a guess at the setlist?

dplan went on at 11.30, played for about 90 minutes. i walked out of the club a bit after 1 am.

nkotb, yes, i would like ticket stub. i am one of those types that stock piles concert tickets. you can just drop in snail mail for me.    :D

epstein isn't totally off base with his comments either-it is a different vibe, and a different crowd. but its stil la fun show, and i had a good time. sound is a bit off though and these ears of mine did have trouble deciphering things.

Fucking amazing show. I can't even count how many times I've seen em, but that just brought back so many memories. I would love to go again tonight if anyone has an extra   ;)

Anyone else see Ben Gibbard hanging out in the Red Room and at the side of the stage?

Was that actually Ben Gibbard...right side of the stage?  Jeesh...I thought it was just a short stout lookalike, dressed a little too nicely.
