my fiancee is totally devastated....

and i guess, it just got weirder. i now have no idea whether we've been watching the past or the present or the future.

i dont know whether me being very anxious for it to be over (so i can have some answers) makes the show great or boring.   :)

and now we have to wait 8 months  :(

I think the biggest question is whether the flash forward is real or a vision by someone else seeing the future, maybe Locke?  So many questions, I wish I never started watching.

This was the moment I quit Lost.  In the fall when Kate and Sawyer were held hostage in cages.  They had been in those cages a few days.  Then they decide to escape and Kate looks up and sees she can climb out the top very easily.

It took that long to figure out you can climb to freedom?  The others didn't think to build cages that svelt young hotties couldn't just easily climb?  I haven't seen it since then and I haven't missed it.

I wish I could get into these type of shows. I can't make a point of watching anything on a regular basis apart from Coronation Street, which I can't even get over here.

 I tried, I really did...

24 sucked, how many times in a single hour can Sutherland get pissed off for crying out loud?

The Office (US)didn't do it for me.

Reality shows are the work of satan.

I didn't even give Lost a shot, it just sounded like a modern day version of Gilligans Island meets Gullivers Travels.

I like the CSI shows because it's a different story every week, so if you miss an episode you're  not lost (no pun intended). They're a bit far-feched though, and we always get a laugh out of 'H' in the Miami one, with uber-cool hands on hips stance whilst stating the bleeding obvious. "H, he was pushed off the 18th floor balcony"....(hands on hips, puts on sunglases and looks to right slightly) "What we have here ladies and gentlemen, is a fall guy"

House is pretty good, but again, it's a different medical condition every week so you don't need to set your Tivo (if you even have one) to keep up with the storyline.

Then what's the FBI profilers one? That would be good if they would fire the whole cast and replace them with actors.

I quit 24 as well, but I still like Lost.  I don't love it as much as I used to, but still like it.

I was pissed off that I didn't figure out it was the future/present until kate got out of the car.  So, who do you think died?  My guess is Locke since Sawyer and Kate were probably together.

Also, did anyone notice all the maps on the floor in Jack's room?  Was he trying to find the island?

I wish they would've just killed Ben last night.  He is scary.

It would be better knowing that next year was the last.  I really don't see this show keeping my interest past 4 seasons.  But, I enjoyed the 3rd one, and for some reason, was really sad to see Charlie go last night.  (even though I found him terribly annoying beforehand)

The show takes place in 2004. My wife said the type of cellphone that Jack was using in the "flashbacks" wasn't around in 2004. Anybody else agree/disagree? That was one of the pointers that it was actually the future.

Sad to see Charlie go. I was hoping the two women would give him one final threesome, but no go. Hell, he didn't even get to do more than kiss Claire. Poor little hobbit boy.

I was ready to quit the show if they really did kill Jin, Bernard, and Sayid.

I don't think Kate ends up with either Jack or Sawyer. I think the dead guy in the future is Sawyer, not Locke. Just a hunch.

I was thinking Michael was in the casket.  He's one of the few characters on the show that no one would give two shits about if he died.  Everyone else had friends/family/etc.; he's the one person that no one on the island had any love for, especially after he killed two of them and betrayed the rest.  Just my two cents...

But he might have friends back home???

Although the fact that the funeral was in an African-American community might offer credence to your argument.

I'm sure there are all kinds of theories on the Lost message boards, which I take a look at no more than once a month or so, I swear.

It was odd that Jack had a black beard in the flash-forward, though in the present it appears as if his beard is going majorly gray. Bad job by the makeup/costume people, or any meaning?

we thought that too

ok, I thought last nights episode was pretty f'ed up in a good kind of way - I'm not sure how I feel about knowing now that at least some of them get off the island but I guess we have to find out how/why?

Also, if its not Pennys ship who's ship is it? Was Ben right when he said there were people trying to destroy the island?

Whats up with Walt? Is he alive or dead?

What exactly did Kate say at the end? "I have to get back to him" or "He'll be waiting" - is there any possibility she's referring to a son given all the hints about her possibly being pregnant?

The piece where Rousseau meets her daighter for the first time in 16 years, gazes deeply into her eyes and then says "Will you help me tie him up" was hilarious!!

I sort of thought that it may be Ben or the dark haired guy that convinced Juliette to go to the island in the coffin.  It seems that Jack really wanted to get back to the island, my guess is one of (the only?) person that knows how to get to the island died.  With no hope of being able to get back Jack decided to off himself.

I cant see him being so broken up over anyone else (not that he was in a great state, but clearly whomever died pushed him over the edge).

What do you make of him referencing his father in the flash-forward?  Jack clearly said to the new doctor that he should call his father and see who was drunker?

That, coupled with the fact that Jack said he's sick of all the lies when talking with Kate have me thinking all types of conspiracy theories.  What if, thanks to this "magical box" that can grant you anything you want, all of the survivors have their lives turned back the way they want?  Maybe they're rescued, but have to keep all of the secrets of the island and everything that happened to themselves.

Might make sense that Kate doesn't seem to be on the run any longer.  And maybe that's what unhinges Jack; as a man of science, having that burden of knowing something but not being able to even open up about it sets him over the edge?

By the way, not only am I horribly addicted to Lost, I spent an hour after the show and my entire hour run this morning thinking the entire thing over.  I am a geek.

The consensus on the message boards so far is that it was Ben's funeral.

 Johnathan Benstraum or something.

Clearly, I am not busy at work today.

Also, my guess for the person Kate needed to get back to was Sawyer.
