"She's bound to put a blanket on my bed"

Awesome song. I didn't get Highway 61 until a few years ago despite having been a dylan fan since I was 16.  Queen Jane Approximately and Desolation Row are my favorite tracks on that album.

dylan's garagey, rollickin' songs from the mid-60s are some of his most underappreciated tunes, i think. this one, the last three on side a of "bringing it all back home," some other unreleased stuff. definitely track down " thin wild mercury music," one of the most crucial bob boots out there.

Are you an expert on Dylan boots, BookerT?  A LONG time ago I remember reading about a ten-disc Dylan bootleg set that was supposed to be the ULTIMATE document of early/rocking Dylan with The Hawks (The Band.)  I think it was called "Ten Swords of Zimmerman" or "Swords of Zimmerman."  But I google it and get nothing.  Did you ever hear of it?  Did I get the name wrong?

Off "Highway 61," I'm partial to "Queen Jane Approximately," "Ballad of a Thin Man," and the line in "Desolation Row" where he receives the letter.

oh, there are plenty of people who are much bigger experts than me, but i do like to think that i have other things to do in life than obsess over dylan bootlegs. at least most of the time. you're thinking of " ten of swords," i believe. it goes up through "blonde on blonde," but the majority of it is pre-electric era, which doesn't excite me quite as much. the ultimate for bob/hawks is " jewels and binoculars," which is a 26-disc (!) set that supposedly has every existing dylan recording from '66, including radio interviews, press conferences, and, of course, all of those amazing shows. sketchy quality on many shows, and if you have "bootleg series 4: royal albert hall," you probably don't need anything else here unless you want to be really obsssive, but these are some of the greatest rock shows ever, so, y'know. i generally only collect stuff from the 64-66 and 75-76 tours. even limiting to that i've got more than i'll ever need.

TEN OF SWORDS!  That must be it!  Thank you very much.

Does it have "She's Your Lover Now" on it?  I have the official Bootleg series version (is there any other known recorded version?)  One of the most bitter, nasty love songs EVER written...

there are a couple versions on there, probably similar if not identical to the version on "bootleg 1-3." there are other versions where it's just him solo acoustic, doesn't have the same bite. but yeah, bob could write some bitter songs, but "she's your lover" probably take the cake. makes "positively 4th street" seem like a valentine.
