You can trade in your old discs too.  That's very nice of them.
 
 MS guy got booed.  I was the only guy who cheered for Meesenger for Mac.  I think MS Handhelds will Sync with Mac office too if I heard thr guy correctly.
 
 There was a chuckle when Apple and Intel were ready ahead of schedule and MS needs until March to be ready.

so does this mean if you buy one of these, you will have to wait until crap like Photoshop Universal or Dreamweaver Universal come out before you can actually be productive on one

They just demoed photoshop, but yes.
 
 New mac ad hits hard on the PCs.  They still lead the world in advertising.

It does not seem clear....
 
 Will old simple apps not run at all?

March for most Mac apps that don't come with the iMac.

My buddy says Apple's Rosetta translation software will let Office and other programs for PowerPC Macs run on the new Intel machines.

Yes, "but they don't have the big one" says my buddy.  15.4 inches max.  and they have a tear away plug like my fondue set so you don't spill it if somebody trips on the plug.
