 ....I hear alot of Fugazi in their sound.....but I know they predate Fugazi so maybe MoB were one of their influences?

 I've seen them twice since they re-formed and both times were brilliant.  You should try and see them if you haven't.

I think this is the first local MOB show I've missed since they've reformed, but I need a weekend off.  I agree with GGW though; if you haven't seen them yet, make it a priority.

i'm out of town this weekend, otherwise there's no doubt i'd be there. also seen them twice since they re-formed and they have blown the roof off both times, even though roger miller does in fact look like cameron diaz's brother from "there's something about mary."

I didn't attend their Black Cat show, but the two shows at 9:30 were well-attended (if not sold out).

I'll be there! I've only seen them once before (2004/10/14 @ Black Cat), but I really thought that was one of the very best concerts I saw that year. Looking forward to seeing them again!

 I really appreciated the extra encore. I'm so glad the audience didn't give up after the DJ started playing music. That was awesome.

yeah, good show....two half hour sets follows by a coupke of encores....didnt know all the stuff because I really only started listenijng to em this week but the stuff I knew I liked

I was in Philly this weekend and caught them on Sunday night. They played in a church basement to about 200 people. Would have been a truly great and intimate show, except that Philly was even hotter than DC Sunday, and the venue had NO air conditioning. There were a few ceiling fans that seemed stuck on "low." It was hard to be there for more than 15 minutes at a time without going to the back hall to take a breather. I can't imagine how hot it was on stage or in the crowd near the front. I was really impressed with Pela, the opening band. Both bands played the full sets without complaining. That's rock & roll.

I was also at the Philly show and you're right. I was about five or six feet away from the stage for most of it, and it was pretty murderous. I wish I could've caught both shows, but the one was good enough... goddamn, it was wonderful.
 
 Pela wasn't bad at all, either.

One nice thing about the Black Cat that I've always appreciated is that there are enough air conditioning vents that, if you get there early enough, you can find one and park yourself right where it's blowing and you're set all evening. Of course, if you move outside that 9 square foot area, you do so at your own discomfort...
