hm... maybe past 11 they'll start. according to the black cat the opening band goes on stage a half hour after doors open. depending on set times Thiev should hit the stage before midnight.

So what did everyone think?  I would have liked some guest singers (maybe they came on later, I left at midnite) or a cool light show.  But after that initial disappointment, I was fine as Thievery put on some good grooves throughout the evening.  Cool posters and other stuff on sale too.  Nothing like their full band performance though.

Do y'all think that Dismemberment Plan will just come out and play records as well?

It was hilarious how 2/3 of the crowd left before the show ended.  At least the ones that left were all the scenester hipster dufuses that dress the part but end up just standing there at every show eye humping the band looking completely void of life.  The crowd was really into it during the last hour or so.

i have to agree with skippy regarding the hipsters departing for the last train home or fear of turning into pumpkins at midnight. i got a good laugh out of that.

thievery spun for 2.5 hours-started about 10.10 and finished up about 12.45pm and i loved what they did. why spin your own albums when you can spin what you'd be doing over at 18th St Lounge or if you having your own house party.

totally loved the reggae in the last hour. was that all sleepy wonder's stuff? i'm not a reggae person much, but that was more dancehall-y type music.

An enjoyable set hampered by lacklaster sound.  The sound out of the speakers wasn't loud enough or full enough to command the room and didn't capture the crowd.  A nice playlist and a nice night but somewhat underachieving.
