It's really quite amazing -- there are four tours, October 1 - October 8 -- schedule with cities, dates  here:

 REM/Bruce Springsteen/John Fogerty/Bright Eyes

 Pearl Jam/Death Cab for Cutie

Dave Matthews Band / Jurassic 5 / My Morning Jacket

 Tour Information
MoveOn PAC is excited to announce the Vote for Change concert tour. Vote for Change is a loose coalition of musicians brought together by a single idea â?? the need to make a change in the direction of our country. We share a belief that this is the most important election of our lifetime. We are fighting for a government that is open, rational, just and progressive.

"We have an opportunity to change the direction our country is headed and to elect a government that is just, rational and respectful of the views and rights of the people it serves," said Stone Gossard of Pearl Jam.

Artists participating in Vote for Change have merged their energies and talents to focus on states that are expected to have the closest race in the presidential election this fall. This unprecedented effort will include approximately 40 shows in 30 cities in 9 battleground states over the course of 10 days.

These concerts will feature Babyface, Jackson Browne, Dave Matthews Band, Death Cab for Cutie, the Dixie Chicks, Ben Harper, Jurassic 5, John Mellencamp, My Morning Jacket, Pearl Jam, Bonnie Raitt, R.E.M., James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and more. These and other artists will appear on separate bills on the same night in selected cities around several battleground states. Vote for Change artists hope to accomplish a single goal through the tour: to get people to the polls on November 2nd to vote for a change.

The Vote for Change tour will be presented by MoveOn PAC, with all concert proceeds benefiting the work of America Coming Together (ACT).

Again, you mock.  Not only are we not a swing state, we're not a friggin' state.  And I guess 'Ginnie and Marry-land aren't either...

PS, I just saw that this was also listed in "Just Announced" -- I'd seen it in Phish thread and thought it should at least be outta there....

Perhaps, although his physical appearance might debunk that.  Now 'Max Power', that's a name.

How about Joe Power.  That's a guy I work with, in the electric industry, no less!  (People think it's a joke and not really his name...)

I just snagged 2 good tix in the first floor section for the pearl jam/dcfc show in Toledo.

I realize nobody on here really cares much for PJ...but I do...Should be a grand old Bush bashing event.

Fan clubs actually can be cool sometimes.

Sept - Oct: tour of swing states to try and help John Kerry get elected

The format of the show is still being worked on, and may actually be worked on until the moment it starts. But our plan/hope is to have guest musicians, singers and comedians at all the shows. If all works out, then there will be no opening act, but just a single performance during which people will come and go from the stage, playing on each others songs, etc. In this relatively informal setting, we will offer our thoughts on the election (and trust our comedian friends to do so as well, only more entertainingly).

A sweet new venue in town - A converted old catholic church.

It'll be even better once they get their liquor license. For now it's $5 a cup - then all the beer you want until it's gone. Maybe that's not such a bad thing afterall.   :D   (see 9:30's beer prices)

As a fellow contractor, I checked around before contributing and found that employees of contracting firms are allowed to donate to campaigns.  Only if you are a consultant or own the business are you barred from contributing.
