Awww, come on.  It's not THAT bad.  For every crap act (The Doors Of The 21st Century, Lenny Kravitz), you've got at least one good one (Cheap Trick, James Brown).  And it's Rolling Stone, what do you expect?  It's not like they pretend to not be a mainstream mag.

I think it's just quite fascinating.  Hell, I spent half of the Strokes show at Nation outside on the phone with a friend...myself, I'd probably enjoy the camp of The Strokes, The Darkness and Cheap Trick on one bill, but it's not worth traveling for...

YAWN...personally, I'd be intrigued to see just how bad Doors of the 21st Century would be. I really like some of the Doors' stuff, but come on. Are the royalties really that bad lately?

They asked Ian Astbury but he was busy with more relevant projects.

And it gets EVEN  worse...

"As the Backstreet Boys prepare to kick off a comeback tour this fall, the group is also looking for a new bodyguard. The Boys hope to find one by way of a new reality show called â?? what else? â?? "Bodyguard," according to Variety.

The "American Idol"-like competition will whittle down a group of contestants until one man or woman is left standing as the Boys' protector."

This is where Scott Stapp will step in again and try his best Morrison impression like at Woodstock (YAWN)

I was going to forward info on this show to a friend, but it looks as if it isn't happening. It's not on Pollstar or the Roseland site.

I got it off of Pollstar.  However, a friend in NY thinks he recalls hearing about this as an industry event.  So, it may not be open to the public.  ???
