quote:
Originally posted by pepper*sans*salt:
Okay, so who are they, and are they any good?

long running swedish band that plays 60's influenced, garagey, pysch-rock. by definition, i wouldn't be all about that sort of thing, but i have to say TSOOL is a strong band that is much more refined than many of their peers (could be because their discography is significantly larger). i will say i was absolutely shocked they were nominated for a grammy this year. someone, somewhere was trying a bit too hard to seem "with it" for their own good.
[This message has been edited by wingelbert humptyback (edited 02-25-2003).]

They're a visual experience, as the lead singer is several hundreds of pounds and often takes to the stage in a dress, which matches his full beard very well. Good band, good songs -- more Doves than Datsuns.

swedish bands rule and the singer is kinda scary which makes it cooler! I saw them at Fletchers with like 25 people there, and the still played like there was 2500.
Cant wait to see them at Coachella.

I was at The Fletchers show, also. We went upstairs and helped the band clear out all the beer in the fridge after the show. Great group of guys! Shot much film and also have a pretty damn good recording of that night.

I believe it's a "tunic"
I haven't seen them, but I have never heard a bad word about their performances. Also, I think what makes them different than a lot of the new "garage" bands is that they don't sound derivative of anybody in particular, but rather, sound like a melange of carefully studied influences. I'm looking forward to this show.
