i'm a huge fan of christopher guest.  i think "best in show" was slightly funnier, it was the first time i've ever enjoyed a movie so much i immediately watched it a second time (usually i can't watch a movie twice for at least 6 months).  a must-see for pet owners and animal lovers.

and in other recommended movies news... (unfortunately it competes with the veils at dc9 and skinny puppy at the 930):

Mon June 11- Film Screening: "THE JESUS LIZARD - LIVE" free (Black Cat) Backstage 9:00

 Film Screening:
 THE JESUS LIZARD - LIVE
While studio recordings of Chicago's The Jesus Lizard are part of the canon of '90s indie rock, anyone who saw them knows their reputation as one of the live bands of that era is completely accurate. This film captures the original quartet in 1994 playing to a packed and frenzied crowd at the Venus De Milo in Boston. The band's workmanlike approach to their taunt, pummeling sound is contrasted by frontman David Yow's Dionysian revelry as he whips himself - and the crowd - into an ecstatic mess. This two camera shoot catches all the blood, spit and sweat of a truly killer live band at their peak.

"To put it bluntly (or perhaps merely state the obvious), The Jesus Lizard were the greatest live band of the last decade of the 20th century. Mr. David Yow will forever be the frontman to end all other frontmen. The Chicago live music scene may never be the same again and for that, we are eternally grateful."

 decisions, decisions...

This thread is a business forum for the club.  Do they show movies such as these?

You need a movie forum.  Might I suggest IMDB forums?

they used to. the old 930 club used to show alternative films and videos on the monitors spread thru out the club, and for a time the new 930 club did as well. they should bring them back.
the 930 club isnt just a concert venue, its part of our cultural landscape and that includes music, art, film, fashion, performing arts etc.
for the 930 club to remain relevant, they need to do more then showcase corporate bands promoting their album sales. they need to remain part of that cultural landscape.
