HEY HEY HEY!!!! Not all of us are johnny-come-lately hipsters. Some of us are actual FANS.

Elliot's death was a total suprise to me. I had read a couple of articles shortly prior to his death where he was reported to be off drugs and in good health. I still have a hard time believing it was suicide. How does one stab themselves TWICE in the chest? Not easy without drugs in your system.

To the topic at hand: I don't think he'll achieve the kind of tragic star status as Cobain. He'll be remembered much like Jeff Buckley. Makes you wonder if there is a god when we lose people like Buckley and Smith, but we still have Britney.

i know it....it is a fucking shame isnt it? yea i know he wont achieve kurt cobain status cause of the phase rock is in right now..to say he will be remembered as a jeff buckley would be fitting, ya know the first song i heard was in 11th grade (about six years ago) i bought xo and remember hearing "im never gonna know you now, but im gonna love you anyhow"...makes me sad man...and as i have addressed on here before, i belive he was murdered.

The Jeff Buckley thing is a fair comparison. How anyone could compare Elliott to Kurt Cobain is beyond me, though. They have absolutely nothing in common except for the fact that they're both dead. Elliott didn't change the sales or fame that Cobain had. And for the record...who else here can say that they saw Heatmiser? Some of us have been fans of Elliott for a long, long time.

Suicides that may actually be murders at the hands of their respective psycho mates.

Very true! And that goes for a lot of us on this board.

So far I've only heard a few songs from the new album but what I heard was very good. And so you can't attach the death sentiment to it, I was impressed with the music before I realized who it was.

From what I've heard, this is one of those rare albums that will resonate very well with many of us here with a variety of tastes from Brit Rock to Alt-Country.
