You can't miss me tonight - Angels cap, "Free Marissa" t-shirt and a Social D jacket.  Come up and introduce yourself.

Sorry to miss out on Mr. Vansmack Goes to Washington.  My L4-L5 and L5-S1 discs are none too happy with my inflicting two shows and one all-night poker game on them over the last three nights.

Hopefully you'll give me a raincheck for one of my left coast visits later this year.

Hahaha, that show was so much fun.  "Art Brut, are you ready?!"
The first opening band sounded really good too, but I only caught their last few songs.
What did you guys think of the show?

"READY, ART BRUT!?"

I think it's my new morning chant!  Wake up, stand, "READY, ART BRUT!?"

Great show, they are a band having fun.  Not sure about their longevity -- it was a lot of the same sound, but for a few minutes shy of an hour, that sound was a blast.

Great, great show...I had to drag my ass there on a Sunday night, but had a hell of a time.

 They were incredibly entertaining.

I knew Eddie would be great, but was surprised at how good the band was.

it was a good time. even before i saw ian svenonius walking around and the lead singer of art brut mentioned both nation of ulysses and the make up, i felt like it was very similar to a show by the make up. in that you know you are witnessing something utterly ridiculous and sometimes hilarious, and it really shouldn't be working, but the band is tight and the songs are really good and the lead singer has charisma to spare and it just clicks.

agree w/bags on the longetivity thing, though. not sure where they can go from here, although it seems like they might be talented enough to pull something off that's a lot less shticky.

best moment of the performance:
when he used the microphone cord as a jump rope.
 frickin' genius!

Ready Art Brut??.....GO!!!

I enjoyed it so much, I'm growing a moustache.

I think my favorite part was the disappearance into the crowd and ending up back on stage.  That or when he hung the mic over the rail and sang into it from below.  I also enjoyed the top of the pops banter.

Sal and Bombay, pleasure meeting you both as well.

Sorry about not getting back to you - I posted this and then the board crapped out.  I hopped on a plane, and wasn't able to check again until a couple hours before the show.

no worries, I majorly wimped out last night, despite there being three shows that I wanted to see, all of which turned out to be good shows

then again, it was nice to spend a quite Sunday evening in w/ my honey - life has been a little too hectic lately!

That's funny.

Smackette and I have to come to DC to spend any quality time together.  Life has been hectic in SF too.  That's why we motivated and went to the show - why not, we're on vacation was the attitude!  A good choice too.
