Yeah, I was wishing it had been a Saturday night show...would have been fun to have a few more beers and stay out after the show, riding on the high energy vibe.  Kinda sucked to go home and try to get right to sleep, prepping for another Monday at work.

That was the best show I've seen in quite some time.  I agree it was hard to go home and go to bed after that.

the Art Brut CD remains only available as an import, it's listed as coming out in here in May at Amazon.  however, it's been available as an eMusic download since May of last year.  not that i keep track of such things

I'm surprised everybody thought the show was so great.  I thought it was pretty good, but there was an aura of fakeness about Eddie.  It didn't seem to me like he was really that into it; he was just acting like he was.  My buddy had the same reaction.  Maybe it was because he was too sober like he said.  Or, maybe it was because I was expecting too much as I love just about every song on that album.  Or, maybe it was all another part of the elaborate ploy to make fun of pop bands.  Anybody else notice this?
 
 I, however, did have a great time, and was very impressed with the talent of the band.

You definitely have to check out the Robocop Kraus.  They were awesome.  The lead singer is hilarious, and definitely very into it.  You just have to see it.
 
 The Rogers sisters I thought were ok musically.  But, they definitely weren't attempting to get the crowd involved, and were too focused on themselves.  It was like they were at odds with the crowd without giving them a chance to dig the music.  They just sort of played a few songs and left.  Very forgettable.

Thanks, but it looks like Robocop Kraus isn't on the Ottobar bill. It's Baby Aspirin instead.

You can also get it from  cdwow. Free shipping, 8.75 GBP, which probably works out to be alot cheaper than getting it on import elsewhere...

i saw them last week at the bowery. just was curious if they ended up playing with a setlist. one of the highlights of that show was eddie decided that there'd be no set list for that night, so it was just everyone yelling out the songs. eddie got mad at one point, and said he was going to play what he wants.
 
 now its time for everyone to go form their own art brut band.    by far, it was one of the best shows i had seen. the band was so energetic, and i love the update to emily kane. "and i know now, im not in love with emily kane, im in love with the idea of being in love with love". oh how he went on. great show! glad to feel the love for them in DC.  btw, there are now over 150 art brut bands - one in west virginia no less and an israeli one! woohoo!

Oh, that's great to read that obviously everyone loves them. I went to one of their shows in Germany and they were sooooo great. Eddie is just so cool, doesn't matter to me if it is fake or not.
