Surry bout that.  I get kinda defensive about my musical tastes sometimes; been stereotyped too many times.  But hey look at it this way, I've gotten unnecessarily upset about something said in jest.  That means I'm officially a newbie on this message board.

So did anyone else end up at the Weakerthans show?  Maritime made me dance, and the Weakerthans were pretty good too.

I was wondering about Maritime.  Worth a listen?

P.S.  Ninja emo is so 90s.

Well Maritime was definitely a very fun live show.  I picked up their EP though, and it doesn't sound quite as good on disc.

Caution, though: of the two old bands that members of Maritime were in, it leans somewhat more toward Promise Ring than Dismemberment Plan.  I happen to prefer TPR over D-Plan, but I'm probably in the minority with that.

I was there.  I thought Maritime was really good.  Very catchy, upbeat pop-stuff.  The Weakerthans were good, but I'll admit I left early.  I'm not familiar with their CDs and I was getting a little bored toward the end.  That says more about me than about them though.

I'll definitely go see Maritime again.
