Yes, but i say interpol, because in this interview they are trying so hard to say that they dont think they sound like interpol and blablabla, interpol has been around longer than them correct?

Yes.  And they're both from NYC so they're both very defensive about it who sounds like who.

The answer is simple - you both ripped off Joy Division, but you both do a pretty good job of it so just admit it and we can move on.

One of the Kool Rock Radio DJs completely wore out one of their songs for some of us last summer. For a good while, I thought that it was some new Interpol song until I found out otherwise. Think it was Sonick who set me straight on that one. The guy who played it to death is the one who refuses to ID any of the music so, unless you know, you have no fucking clue who you are listening to. Now he's wearing out some other song by them. At least this time, I recognize their sound.

But yeah, Joy Division -> Interpol -> She Wants Revenge.

I like them but am sick of them already. They do strike me as being cocky as Hell even just by listening to the music. One of those bands whom I'd rather enjoy their music for what it is and not bother with meeting them.

wow, unless there is another band called she wants revenge, this article confirms they were indeed signed by fred durst and are actually from LA http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1501054/20050429/story.jhtml

Why would a DJ do that? That seems....absurd.  If I'm listening and hear a great song (or even a really bad song) I get so irritated when the DJ doesn't ID the band.  I know on commercial radio that can't be done all the time, but why wouldn't you want your listeners to know who you're playing?

I fully agree which is why I not only verbally note all music on my shows, I also have it posted in playlists in my blog on MySpace. All of the other DJs note their music. Some of them have taken my lead and created profiles on MySpace and do what I do. It all helps everyone from the DJs and the station to the bands to the fans. At least, that's how I see it.

We've been trying to get through to this guy but he's the same one who owns the station, mixes all of the shows, runs everything and pays for everything so it's a bit of a push that we are having a hard time getting through to him about. He did just put up one of his shows where he is IDing his music but it's only a 1 hour show. It's all in Spanish since he's from Peru but that's all fine and even makes for a much more interesting format with different languages. Besides, most of the music is in English so it's usually easy enough to place as he uses the titles as the bands use them.

To be honest, I've often suspected that he didn't use them because he has a background of DJing lots of clubs in Peru and IDing the music breaks up the flow of the events. But he is also a very popular DJ in Lima on some terrestrial station so that would give it a different twist. I don't know. I only know that all we can do for the time being is to make sure that we ID our own music and let him worry about his own.

This is about as dead on as you'll find when talking about this album (despite the fact that this is about the EP):

 From Popmatters:

 SHE WANTS REVENGE
 She Wants Revenge
 (Geffen)
 Rating: 6
US release date: to be announced
UK release date: 25 October 2005
 by Tim O'Neil
 PopMatters Associate Music Editor

I was driving to work one night and, against my better judgment, found myself listening to one of the local rock stations. Something interesting came on the station, a song called "Sister" by a group called She Wants Revenge. The first thing that came to mind was that it sounded a little like Interpol.

Er, scratch that: it sounded a lot like Interpol.

Of course, Interpol themselves sound a great deal like Joy Division, so its hardly as if they have a monopoly on the sound. But it is rather uncanny, the way that She Wants Revenge manage to hit every note exactly right so as to create a perfect simulacrum of this specific sound. The similarities go as deep as the song titles themselves: instead of "She's Lost Control", we've got "Out of Control"; instead of "Love Will Tear Us Apart", we have "Tear You Apart". There's no way these guys could be doing this with a straight face.

Sure enough, She Wants Revenge is the brainchild of two Los Angeles DJs, Justin Warfield and Adam Bravin. Given this, it makes sense that the project would seem more than a little calculated: this is the result of two intelligent producers who dedicated themselves to creating a laboratory-precise replica of a specific stylistic mode. This could not have been better designed to hit exactly the same indie kid pleasure centers as Antics -- its the kind of achievement you have no choice but to respect, simply because it is rather intimidating to imagine what these guys could do if they decided to use their powers for evil instead of good.

Take album-opener "Red Flags and Long Nights". The track begins with an ominous minute-and-a-half instrumental vamp, with droning guitars, pulsating synths and steady post-punk disco beat. When the jittery baritone vocals begin, sounding for the life of me like a professional Ian Curtis impersonator, the illusion is complete. The song locks into a groove, repeating the same handful of chords throughout the entire song, filling every open nook and cranny with ennui and sexual ambiguity.

Most of the tracks seem to feature dangerous, distracted women with an illicit sexuality. "These Things" features this inimitable chorus hook:

 "I heard it's cold out, /
 But her popsicle melts, /
 She's in the bathroom, /
 She pleasures herself, /
 Says I'm a bad man, /
 She's locking me out, /
 It's because of these things.

Now, if you can, sing that in your best monotone, faux-goth Joy Division impression. Chances are it will sound very much like the real thing.

"Out of Control" details the nightclub misadventures of a woman in high heels and stockings. "Monologue" enters the world of S&M, and contains my favorite new lyric: "Just give me the safe word and take my hand, / And smack me in the mouth my love." "Someone Must Get Hurt" could give The Killers a run for their money in the field of catchy 80s dance-pop -- and that is, as you might imagine, a mixed blessing. The facility with which they can summon a seemingly endless number of minor-key, melancholy hooks is simply spooky.

She Wants Revenge are either the greatest tribute band in the history of music, or the biggest pranksters since Spinal Tap. The impression is so dead-on, I can't help thinking that it might have been intended as something of a prank: if two DJs can replicate such a distinctive sound with such precision on a whim, what does that say about bands who devote their entire careers to following so slavishly in the footsteps of others?

She Wants Revenge
 These Things

The musical equivalent of picking up the soap. This band is a lot like that time you accidentally walked into the bathroom while your dad was jacking offâ?¦ itâ??s just embarrassing for everyone involved. These guys have Interpolâ??s gigglesticks shoved so far down their throats, they must have been porno stars in a previous life, cos their gag reflexes are fully under control. Yet another fine addition to Fred Durstâ??s label, She Wants Revenge stand side by side other sham-tastic beef gravy guzzlers Puddle of Mudd, Staind, and Cold. Dumb sluts and metro-sexual dudes who use their Bloc Party baby tees as jizz rags are super into this bullshit.
