An Ode to the Common Share
« on: March 21, 2007, 12:16:00 pm »
this place used to be my absolute favorite haunt my freshman - junior years of college (approx. 99-01) ... we'd go there every thursday night, hang out with joey the bartender and get sloshed on the two dollar EVERYTHING deal they used to have

the Share had one of the most diverse crowds, and not just racially, but age / income / dress / appearance / sexual orientation / everything ... you'd see bike messengers signing with galludet students and homeless dudes getting a $2 high-ball talking to 30-something professionals while sitting on empty kegs upstairs ... definitely not something you see in this city, which is pretty well segregated along a lot of different lines in terms of its nightlife

i guess something that great can't last forever, but every time i've been back in the last few years, it's just a completely different vibe, which is really too bad

anyone else use to go there all the time?  still do?
