GO PENGUINS!!! [/b]
if only fleury could score goals, the pens would be set. [/b]
Same could be set for the Caps and Jagr....and the fact we have to get a glove to replace the slice of swiss cheese Olie is using for a glove at the moment.

well, the caps thought they were getting the in-his-prime jagr when they picked him up and signed him to that contract.  there are other bad moves that they made, but all of my hardcore hockey fan friends back in da burg kind of saw that one coming.

I agree, you saw us coming with that trade, but I think Ted Leonsis thought of him as an arena filler as much as a goal-scorer, at which he's failed miserably. DC is not a hockey town, plain and simple, I'm one of a handful of hardcore Caps fans, which is why it's normal to see more away fans, especially NY and PA teams, than Caps fans. Sad really because he's a great owner.

Cassidy is not ready for prime time either, imho.

And I'm a Capitals fan, imagine how I feel! At least they've started choking from the get-go this year instead of waiting till the playoffs. [/b]
Actually the one Cap's game i went to this year they beat the Islanders 6-1. I'm actually a Maple Leaf and will see them play the Cap's next month.

My preferences in US sports (if anybody cares):

Baseball - Orioles and Marlins (especially now that I learned that they have had two seasons with over 50% of victories in the regular season and yet two World Series). My dislike goes for the big teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, and Texas.

Basket - always a big fan of the Clippers (and the Grizzlies since they have a player from F.C. Barcelona, who seems pretty talented). I hate the Lakers and Utah (but now it seems that the Jazz are worse than the LA Clippers, Denver Nuggets and Golden State Warriors combined)

NFL - Colts, Panthers and Ravens. I don't like the two NY teams and the Patriots.

Ice Hockey - don't know anything about it, but if I had to choose, I would have to support all the Canadian teams and the team that plays in Raleigh.

as much as i wanted to see jagr stay in pittsburgh, he was always a little primadonna, and was eventually happy to see him go.  needless to say, after the way he's been playing, i'm doubly happy that he went to the caps.  he he.

as for leonsis. . .i had a friend that sent an email to him about how he bought a season ticket package to see the caps, and how much they've been sucking, and how it's not worth the money he paid. . well, leonsis replyed personally, and apologized for the play of the team.  how many owners would do that???  oh, pollin has been screwing leonsis ever since they moved into the mci center.  who is the worse owner: pollin or snyder.  at least snyder wants his team to win.   :)

well, there's a reason why they've only had 2 winning seasons. . .i guess you don't know about the fire sale that took place after their first world series victory.  i hated wayne huizenga before he bought the marlins, and i hated him even more after what he did that year, and it's likely to happen again this year for the marlins.  at least jerry coangelo kept most of the diamondbacks together after they won their world series, but to little avail.

I care....

 My preferences.

Baseball...really not interested but look out for the Oriole's because they're local and Cal Ripken Jr. is a wonderful roll model for every young kid.

Basketball...REALLY DON'T CARE! Wish it would just go away.

NFL.....REALLY DON'T CARE, but like to see the Redskins lose since Snyder took over.

MLS....Tried my best to become a regular fan for a few seasons but the game is so boring compared to the European game. (sorry but it is) Look out for DC United and watch them on TV if I remember they're on. BTW Was tickled to death the USA women lost the world cup thingie because they became way too cocky.

Hockey...."C.A.P.S. CAPS CAPS CAPS." Went from season ticket holder to 10 game plan to a few games a season down to a couple per season, basically I've been priced out of the game like a lot of fans have. When the Caps ulitmately choke I look out for the Canadian teams. Admire the Redwings, hate the Flyers, Pens, and Rangers.

 All college sports....just stupid!

Barcelona, you should give hockey a look. Everyone I know who is a footie fan (non American of course) prefers it out of all the US major sports.
