GREAT set from the boys, even with Damien sick and doing his best to stay in full voice (I wondered at first if the mics were down, but then realized it was his illness, not the mix).
Gotta say the gay couples around me ditched their spooning to dance a bit to OK Go. I still think it was a slightly incongruous match, but what the hell. Bring the people together. And I left before Rufus went on (as did several folks, I noticed) -- not in protest, but I had work early this a.m. and was too stressed to stay just to check Rufus out. So I can't speak to the Rufus crowd once he started, though some of my posse of 50 were there...
Generally, I thought OK Go 'brought it' and made some fans. And they certainly had quite a contingent of fans there already, with lots of singing along. And, of course, the peels of laughter and screeching I expected for the big dance number finale.
Sorry I'll miss their headline gig at Black Cat later in the month. I commend that show to all who have a little bit of power pop in their hearts.
