It's a great song...got Moz in a bit of a pickle with the Brit press though.

pretty girls make graves was alright.. i guess.  they're like a cheap version of hot rod circuit, but with a fake kelly osborne singing.  she was neither energetic nor interesting, but the energy of the other 4 guys kept me into it.  i was hoping that it would have been different, i've been following the band for a couple months.  alkaline trio sucked, though...so that could be distorting my views of the whole evening.

Be careful what you wish for...if Moz was your neighbor then you'd have to put up with me as well because I'd be hanging out with the Moz watching the footie on his big screen telly while chatting about the boozers we used to drink in back in the manc.

No! You would be engaged in servicing his holes.....

morrissey has turned into rather a pathetic figure in my opinion. The whole moving to LA thing and still being miserable and singing songs about the weather is just silly now.

yet you think hanging around after shows to have your picture taken with the performer even though you're in your 30's not pathetic!

you are just bitter because I got to meet Badly Drawn Boy and Andy Rourke, arent you?

Its cool meeting the bands, you get to ask them questions about their music and why they do certain things.

so did you ask Rourkey why he fucked up the Smiths by turning into a burbling useless druggy?

..and I've met Badly Drawn Boy loads of times. The pubs back home are full of blokes exactly like him.

I would like to meet Shane MacGowan though I must admit.

I asked Rourke if he was still taking drugs and about the settlement and why he didnt take the route Mike Joyce did.

But I told you all that already.

I enjoyed meeting Joe Strummer, I wish I had been less nervous and had the guts to ask him what he thought of Sandinista now.... I was looking forward to asking him that question when he played this year.

As for meeting blokes like Damon Gough. I never have. How many people British people do you know that idolise Springsteen and love flaming lips and GBV above current British music?

hmmmm, good question I'd have to think about that for a minute. I do know at least one Brit who idolizes Andrew WK and loves the next 'it' band to be hyped by MTV, NME, YM and SEVENTEEN.

Andrew WK is good fun, he is taking the piss....

It is much better that than clinging to the past, watching some wrinkly guy in Lurex sing songs he wrote 30 years ago. Or pining for some gut who fucked Michael Stype, lives in LA and hasnt had a great record for 13 years.  and does not even have a recording contract anymore. By ignoring new music you consign yourself to old age and " when I was a boy we had real musicians and performers"

Its interesting to see live the bands that get hyped. Some are deserving of it others are not, but you only really find that out for yourself by going to the show.

You don't think most of the "reunion" tours aren't taking the piss and cashing in?

And by new bands, you mean bands like The Healers and Badly Drawn Boy?

The vast majority of the hyped 'it' bands are just nothing more than poor copies of bands from yesteryear....I'd just rather stick with the original myself.

Call me greedy, but I want them both. Just because music is old doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't good anymore. Sure, some of it loses it's appeal with time but not all. New music is great too, though a lot of that too sucks.

But what is the original? All music is derivative of wht has gone before.

By not giving new music a chance you are turning into a parent, Oh wait you already are.

I dont know if the reunions are taking the piss or not. Some must be, i.e. the pistols. But Berlin are cashing in, but is theat taking the piss, I dont see the humour in that. well except for the fact that they were never any good in the first place.

Others probably still see themselves as serious nusicians, soft cell probably fall into the later category.

Mostly when I see these old guys though I just wish I had seen them 10, 20 or 30 years earlier and I guess that is the point. New talent is turning up everyday that in the decades to come will be doing there own reunion shows.
