Oh, I feel for you. I was one of the folks trying to get by you to go upstairs for a drink and a pee. It was TOUGH getting back.
I ended up having a FANTASTIC spot sight-wise (though the sound was a tad muddled). Bearman, I was near you -- we were over in front of the other Exit door behind the soundboard, on the handicapped ramp which was not jam packed, and was on a rise so we could see over everyone in front of us. Room to dance, a rail for leaning, great sight lines. And you don't even want to know when we got there -- just minutes before the band went on. I'd never been to RHL before so we scoped the whole place out first. Rule of thumb -- go to the side away from the entrance! [At 9:30, that's over by Food Food.]
The upstairs was not full at all, but TERRIBLE for seeing. I'm 5' 9", and couldn't see a thing with only one line of folks at the rail. Another thing 9:30 really got right -- the 'steps' on the second level.
Loved the show, they are SO good. Wish I had the gumption for Philly, but too much is going on generally and I need some rest.
Josh Homme should be on my Rock n' Roll husband list, but I think I'm not tough enough.
Sonick, missed you probably because we came in directly from the parking lot. In the hubbub, I forgot to go look for you. Glad to know you enjoyed the show so much!
Bearman, as long as you were in bliss, it's all good. See you at the next one!
