Man dies in Smashing Pumpkins mosh pit

Incident happened at the band's Vancouver gig

 26.Sep.07 2:30pm

A fan died at a Smashing Pumpkins gig in Vancouver, Canada on Monday night (September 24), after being involved in what police described as a "mosh pit or crowd-surfing incident".

Police explained that the man was removed unconscious from the crowd inside the PNE Forum venue.

First aid specialists attempted to revive him before he was transferred to the nearby St Paul's Hosptial where he was pronounced dead.

Police explained that they did not suspect any foul play and the circumstances were "not suspicious", claiming that the death was due to an "out of control mosh pit".

A spokeswoman for the venue said: "It's just a really, really sad ending to what started out to be probably a very fun night for a young man."

This story keeps changing. Over on netphoria, someone claimed they went with this guy to the concert and that he had a seizure, but now it's getting attributed to moshing.   :(  either way.

seizure problems at shows i feel is a real problem.  i have a seizure disorder, and i've noticed an onslaught of light fantastic blinking and blanking my fried mind away from being able to stare at the stage sometimes.  radiohead, i feel, started a monster of morrisonish energy with the alien light brigades blaring to synch with the beats.

Must've been Billy's eye lazers. Did they check for burn marks?

Wait, is there a soccer team named "Smashing Pumpkins" too?

That was a really weak come-back btw.
