Do you guys remember Marathon candy bars from the 70's?  They were like....braided chocolate and caramel and were really long...hence the name.  My grandma used to buy them for us before they stopped making them.  She ruled.  She got me a box of my favorite cereal that my mom would never let me have once for christmas and wrapped it and everything.

Ok...now back to this important topic.  Baby Apple.

Once my grandmother wrapped up some cans of mandarin oranges and gave them to my brother for christmas.  Then a couple years ago, my brother wrapped up a box of cheez-its and put it under the tree for me.

Last minute christmas shopping in the pantry must run in my family.

They were my favorite! I was allowed one candy selection, and that was it. Later, I started choosing b/w Marathon and Chunky candy bar. (Btw, they sell a super-size Chunky at CVS.) Oh, and we were allowed one gum selection, Trident bubble gum, or Fruit Stripe (<-awesome!).

what I remember is that in Ireland (and presumably England) Snickers used to be called Marathon in the 70s and 80s - so I did a double take when I saw these new Snickers Marathons
