i agree, and i love the Ottobar.  reminds me of a place in northern Ontario. anyway, what kind of bands?  I'll be there with bells on.

hm, as i understood it:

 a) she made crazy comments about the show
 b) people just began refuting them step-by-step
 c) i mention the band does acid
 d) badsushi lashes out at me
 d) i defend myself

but hey, you've proven that your ability to recall chains of events is always perfect, so i'll defer to you on this one.

If I tell you on-line, it'll just encourage another endless stream of irrelevant bullshit slamming the bands - from Hoya.  As usual it will be totally unrelated to their music/talent because he's quite skilled at Google and obfuscation - and seems to hop in on threads about shows he doesn't even attend.  Then he'll counter with personal attacks.  I'll PM you. It's a clear-cut case of OCD fer sure.

Wait.  BadSushi isn't Asian?

I said to her, "That's it, no, wait, just a little to your left, yeah, oh yeah, that's the spot! Just like that... now roll it around a bit with your tongue, oh, ah, ah, ah... oh, sorry, I'll go get you a towel before that messes up your hair..."

but Julian...you told me I wasn't enuf of a faux-celeb porno queen for you...and then, remember, I said:  "Well it looks like you're not enuf of a man for me either."  So, you've confused me with someone else.

so how is stating matter-of-factly -- with actual quotes from the bandmembers themselves -- that the secret machines have done acid a slam on the band? your logic has way too many holes in it. also, hoya has said that he likes the band, so why would he slam them? you're looking for points of contention where there are none.

Well, Mr. Hook, I appreciate you views on my logic...and btw:  I think you do know me, but probably haven't made the connection with the forum name.  Here's his quote:

"the secret machines do a whole shitload of acid, i wouldn't be surprised if they "misinterpreted" what was going on in the backbar"  Wow, shitload:  what a precise term..."do": present case.  Would it worry you if you (or one of the bands you seem to hold in high regard) were driving around the US in a tour bus with this kind of info being put out there, reminding everyone that these drugs are still illegal?

His sources are supposed interviews - but btw: who gives a shit?  He does, cause he obviously spent time looking up website quotes (ad nauseum)...and if you think I am argumentative and full of shit with an opinion on EVERY subject, here's a number for you:  2,033 posts since  March 2004; versus 488 posts since Oct. 2003...and this, Mr. Hook, is the final word on this boring thread from me.  I promise.

are you really that deluded?  i made an off-hand comment about their drug use and you flipped out, accusing me slander and all sorts of other crap, then threatening to punch me ... and you don't give a shit? hah!

You missed when sonic and rhett had a crossfire style debate over the merits of certain bands. Rhett lead with this stunning 4 minute soliloqy about the old 97s that had us all on our feet applauding until sonic responded with "you filthy slut!" we declared sonic the winner because comedy trumps logic any day.

The best part, though, was when we gave the bouncer a picture of BadSushi and told him she wasn't allowed in. Man, that was classic... [/b]
this by the way was the post of the week, i laughed, cried and got in touch with my outer adult...

You can listen to this show here:

 http://www.npr.org/programs/asc/

Have only listened to the first song so far and the vocals are too high in the mix, guitar too low.  Maybe they'll fix it as it goes along.  But in general, sounds good.  You don't really get the full, powerful impact SM makes. Still, really nice to be able to listen to this.
