 The odds are stacked against Velvet Revolver. Their singer, Scott Weiland, is currently in drug rehab for the umpteenth time. Who knows if he'll be a free man when it's time to tour, and judging from his past history, it could be a struggle for him to stay clean when the band hits the road.
 
 As for his bandmates â?? ex-Guns N' Roses members Slash (guitar), Duff McKagan (bass) and Matt Sorum (drums), and former Suicidal Tendencies guitarist Dave Kushner â?? they're ready to rock, but there's some question whether the rock community is ready to embrace them. Over a decade has passed since most of the lineup set stages alight with Guns, and since then the members have embarked on other projects without much mainstream success.

See, I swear I'm not picking on you Bags, but this is why I force myself to listen to the mainstream stations on XM, or even real radio once in awhile. I almost laughed outloud when Thirsty thought it was a Stipe project. This is why I write about Van Halen on BigYawn, cause sometimes, the hipsters (ie us), are so involved in the indie/underground acts, that we miss whats goin on in pop culture. Now Velvet Revolver suck, or at least their one single does. And I doubt Weiland is allowed to leave the state of CA he's had so many problems. But still, it shocks me that folks like us music junkies haven't heard of them.

sock, you can pick on me (I don't think you did, anyway).  I too was shocked when I finally saw what the band is -- I didn't know that sh*t?  Damn, girl, where you been?  If nothing else, I should know because it's pop culture junk, and I claim to be a pop culture junkie (hence the subscription to Entertainment Weekly...).
 
 However, this does not move me to listen to the radio.  XM...?  To that I get closer and closer (I can't listen to WOXY in my office much), though the iPod shuffle is pretty damn sweet in the car.

 See, the ipod shuffle thing doesn't work for me, cause it is all stuff you know. Part of the reason i like the radio is randomness. Thats whay i hate talk radio and listening to Cds in the car. I need to be surprised.
