Well, it seems that everyone over there in D.C. is just sleeping while Death Cab are on stage. I mean, when I went to that concert (in Germany two months ago), everyone was dancing and stuff..

I hear you.  But I've been skipping a bunch of shows that I've wanted to go to at DAR as well lately, because it really ticks me too...I don't know.  I may just be too used to the whole club thing/whatever, but I get really irritated when people sit.  And whenever I sit and hear live music, I always sit there feeling very jittery and wanting to stand.  And I refuse to be That Guy (you know...the only one in the place standing?!)...so it really...just...sucks... I just saw the show in NYC last night at Hammerstein, Franz Ferdinand absolutely blew Death Cab out of the water.  I've seen them both before, and I don't think I'll pay to see Death Cab again until they release another spectacular album (which judging by Plans could be awhile).  And I've been waiting for Franz to come back since their 9:30 show (summer 2004?), and had remembered them being so fun live.  It was no contest.

NYC crowds proved to be just as chatty as D.C. crowds last night, but I think a lot of that had to do with their different fan bases.  I can't imagine what it would have been like to see Death Cab after Franz like they did in D.C., the vibe would have been wicked off.

yeah...i went to Modest Mouse, but i skipped Bright Eyes (who i'm not a big fan of, but i desperately wanted to see the Magic Numbers) - you can guess just how pissed i was when i found out Jenny Lewis had been there.
there are a couple of others that i can't think of off the top of my head.  and The Strokes, who are one of my favorite bands as well, i'm definitely not going to see there...
and i just missed Death Cab.
