john waters overrated? no way. crude at times and amateurish (pre-hairspray), but fucking hilarious and mean-spirited. the beginning of "desperate living" never fails to make me laugh. polyester kills, too. you kind of have to be on the same wavelength to enjoy his brand of humor.
