Well you really ought checkout the Primal Scream records with Mani from the Stone Roses on them.  Vanishing Point and XTRMNTR.  You saw them during their trying very very hard to be the Rolling Stones.   It failed miserably except for one single "Rocks"

Primal Scream at the 9:30 club on the XTRMNTR tour. One word AWESOME.  Three guitarist including Kevin Shields from My Bloody Valentine, getting to stand in front of Bass God Mani, and a horn section.  Blew my head off...

Possibly the only highlight of an otherwise miserable tour.  Wharf Rat and Brokedown from this show are terrific.

As some already know, I never went to many shows.   But the best was The Dead Milkmen at Max's on Broadway(Balt).  I used to be a huge Milkman fan...still kind of am one.  R.U.1?

Started in on the Dead Milkmen when WCVT 89.7 FM Towson radio played Bitchin' Camero.  Saw them at the 9:30 about 88?  Saw them at GW, they played a cafeteria, around 90/91.  They were great, a great band from Philly.

Now that's the band that Cex should open for. Add Mojo Nixon to the bill and you'd have a great night of musical comedy.

I have always prefered Grand Buffet to Cex.  Both fun, but Grand Buffet have that Laurel and Hardy thing going and great songs.

I've never seen or heard Grand Buffett.

Honestly, I don't think Cex is all that great but he can be funny. He's more the type that I'd love to invite to a party. I'm just amazed at how much I see him positively written up in national and international reviews and such.

Check out:

They tour and often play with Cex.  Saw them together at the Ottobar.  They are what you would expect from white Pittsburg rappers.

Elliott Smith and Grandaddy at the Recher (Figure 8 Tour for Elliott, Sophtware Slump for Grandaddy) was a great show.  My first introduction to Grandaddy (now one of my favorites) and an especially good performance by Elliott.

It's a bittersweet memory now, of course.
